Don't miss this place
I traveled to Barcelona several times during my stay in Spain... I would ALWAYS stay at the Axel Hotel.... Staff was great and accommodations were just as good....
Don't expect the wifi to work for more than a minute at a time or more than a metre from the bar upstairs. Also only one code per room and can only be used on one device. Stupid!
Nice hotel but do not get confused
I had a very pleasant stay in the hotel. Staff is really kind and helpful. The situation of the hotel is perfect to visit the main gay area of Barcelona. However, if you have stayed in Berlin Axel Hotel, do not think you are going to find the same sexual fun. It's really quiet, however you might get to know someone in the spa to play with in your room. There are cameras everywhere and it is extremely prohibited to get involved with sexual activities in such facilities. If you search for that, you'd better go to a gay sauna, however I can admit I was lucky to meet a really hot man in the SPA.
Awesome Hotel.
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I was at first a bit concerned that I would have to deal with too much of the infamous gay attitude but found much of the guests and staff to be very friendly. Very diverse crowd from around the world (almost all spoke english) and staff was very helpful. Rooms were nice and clean and well maintained. Rooftop pool wasn't much to brag about but it got the job done. Location is great. In the heart of the gayborhood and within walking distance to Las Ramblas. Over all great stay!

I actually enjoyed my stay at Axel. Location is great and all renovations were completed. I recommend.
